Life at the Lodge

South Lodge
How the lodge looks today - this photo was
taken by the then owner: Alan Lam
The following snaps were taken in the grounds of the cottage with a second-hand Brownie Box Camera in the latter
half of the 1920's, the films were then developed and printed by my grandather in the outhouse/scullery. Again, as
there was no electricity, this also had to be done by candle or oil-light. Tthe negatives no longer exist, but the
condition of the prints made under those restrictions is quite remarkable as you will see.

Margaret's grandfather,
Mr Reid Partridge and
son Ronald who taught
my dad to milk cows.
